Canada prohibits crypto funds from enjoying reduced margin benefits, increasing the cost of leveraged trading
According to Cointelegraph, Canadian regulators have announced that cryptocurrency funds no longer qualify for reduced margin requirements. This regulation applies to crypto funds involved in OCC options trading. The regulator pointed out that due to volatility and liquidity risks, this policy aims to reduce market instability while increasing the cost of leveraged trading. However, specific margin qualifications can still be individually assessed according to sections 5310(1) and 5311(1) of the IDPC rules.
